An ideal 18 – by Mr. Jones, of course

The photo of Bobby Jones was courtesy of Kirby to the Golf Digest story by Jim Nantz.

Such lists are not new, of course. Patric Dickinson, the English writer/poet, who was also fond of golf, penned a lovely book called A Round of Golf Courses – A Selection of the Best 18 (1951). Golf professionals, here and there, have written about their favorite holes, compiling lists of their favorites. But when Bobby Jones prepares such a list, well, you want to have a look. Broadcaster Jim Nantz discovered such a list by Jones at the Country Club of Cleveland and wrote about it for Golf Digest. He had a little help from Sid Matthew, who knows more about Jones that perhaps anybody else on the planet.
